Hello!

My name is Charlotte and I am the person behind Red Robin Counselling & Training Practice.

Why Red Robin?

The Red Robin birds are noticeable all year round. In Spring I see them as a sign of growth and new beginnings. In Winter they're one of the few birds to continue singing. I feel I am a reliable and consistent counsellor who is available through all seasons and for a range of concerns the client (you) is experiencing.

About me

I qualified as an integrative counsellor in 2016 and I continued my professional development by achieving the Level 5 Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling in 2018.

Being an integrative counsellor means I  work in a variety of ways. This means I am able to adapt to your needs in order to achieve the best possible outcome with you. I am able to work with people from the age of 12 years old, with no upper age limit and I can work with people experiencing a range of mental health concerns.

Current Practice

  • I have a successful private practice based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire. I offer counselling to anyone from the age of 12 years old to beyond retirement.

  • I am a CPCAB Tutor for The Bedfordshire Centre for Therapeutic Studies. I teach Level 2 Counselling Skills and Level 3 Counselling Studies. I also co-teach on the Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling.

  • I have experience of co-teaching on the Level 5 Diploma in Counselling Children & Young People which runs under Bedfordshire Centre for Therapeutic Studies.

  • I am a Trustee for the Stevenage Community Trust.

Previous Experience

  • I was a Counselling Coordinator at a College for 2 academic years. I supported and managed Trainee Counsellors. I counselled students from as young as 16 years old with no age limit. I worked with students who had more complex concerns such as suicidal thoughts, self-harm and history of abuse/trauma.

  • I volunteered at a local secondary school for nearly 3 academic years where I have counselled children as young as 12 years old, young adults, adults and older adults.

Professionalism

  • I am a Registered Member of the BACP and I am eligible for accreditation. This means I follow the BACP's Ethical Framework (BACP: British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy)

  • I am an accredited member of The Foundation for Infant Loss. I have had additional training in working with people who have experienced the loss of a child, whether that be their own child or a friends/family members child.

  • Throughout the year I attend and complete regular CPD in a range of topics.
